What is a Business sequence Plan?
If you were unable to be there to run your company, what would happen? Would your family members, co-owners, managers and/or employees know what to do, and would they have the guidelines and the authority to ensure the business survives and thrives?
The main issue in succession planning is to provide adequate options so that it is accomplished with minimal difficulty. This will be the enabler to keep your business running smoothly. It also provides a fair share of the company's worth to all involved with minimal conflicts.
Your key employees, partners or your family can be beneficiaries of your vision exercise and it will be the enabler to grow the business and take your business to the next level with a better ROI to the share holders.
In implementing the succession plan, the owner must be ready to step aside in a phased manner depending on the capabilities/confidence and allow the successor(s) to become accountable and eventually take over departments/divisions in a stipulated time frame. The owner must be prepared to take on new challenges knowing that his or her financial future is secure.
